Former Marriott sales exec to lead Groups360 engagement with the Marriott and IHG brands
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Groups360, a leading online global marketplace for meetings, continues to grow with the addition of Lorie Lambert to its leadership team as its newest vice president of Engagement. Formerly global account director at Marriott International, Lambert will oversee the company’s strategic efforts with both the IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) and Marriott International brands.
“As we continue to expand our relationships with the premier brands in the hotel industry, inviting Lorie to the team was a logical next step,” said Tim Flors, chief sales officer. “After 28 years on the inside as a hotelier, Lorie is well-equipped to partner with our clients at both IHG and Marriott to leverage GroupSync™ and further develop solutions for both their needs and the needs of event planners interested in their properties.”
Lambert began her hotelier career with Marriott in Dallas, climbing the ranks until her most recent role as global account director for Marriott International, where she served as an integral leader of the global sales team.
“Groups360 is changing the meetings industry, and that’s something I wanted to be a part of,” said Lambert. “I’m looking forward to bringing my firsthand experience in understanding the needs of major hotel brands to the team so we can continue to improve upon and build out solutions that benefit both the brands and their event planner customers in matching the right meetings with the right properties.”
In August, Groups360 announced a $50 million investment on behalf of Accor, Hilton, IHG and Marriott International. Lambert’s new position is a direct result of this growth as part of the overall effort to enhance the GroupSync platform and make group meetings easier for corporate event planners and association meeting planners through transparent rates, fees and relevant meeting content across the meetings landscape.
