Today, all of us at Groups360 celebrate the 155th year of Juneteenth, the date slavery finally came to an end in the United States. It is the date upon which Union General Granger read orders in Galveston, Texas, that all enslaved people are free. (Texas, being the most remote part of the South, with few Union soldiers present, had not consistently and completely enforced the Emancipation Proclamation.)
The celebration of Juneteeth is a reminder of the recent events that have brought a much-needed conversation to our nation about the role of race in America.
The Groups360 leadership team firmly believes in the expression, “Culture eats strategy for lunch every day.” A key part of our company culture is support for our teammates and for our community at large. We acknowledge the need for a productive dialogue about the structural inequities that have persisted for generations in America and the ways in which they affect our teammates and our community.
We’re committed to working together in our industry and beyond to advance healing and a more just society.
